Brassia Rex Sakata: Brassia (Brs.) Rex is a primary hybrid of Brs. verrucosa and Brs. gireoudiana. The clone Sakata has is an award winning plant with Award of Merit and Award of Cultural Merit from the American Orchid Society.

Brassia are popularly known as 'spider orchids'. Their long and slender sepals and petals stretch out like the spider legs. The blooms are fragrant. When fully in bloom they look like a number of colourful spiders crawling in the air. Their lips are beutifully spotted.
